Nicolas Delorme spoke exclusively to DriftStat after his career-defining victory at the Nürburgring — on the win, the BMW, and what the championship means to him.

It was the win that changed everything. Nicolas Delorme's victory at the Nürburgring wasn't just a result — it was a declaration of intent. The day after the podium, DriftStat caught up with the French driver.

DriftStat: Nicolas, walk us through the Nürburgring final against James Deane.

My lead run was good — I felt the car perfectly and I committed to maximum angle from the entry. When you're in the lead run and you feel that confidence, you know something special is happening.

The chase was everything. I knew James would set a very high score on his lead. But I also knew our car is very good in chase. The BMW's weight distribution helps — it wants to stay close. I just had to trust it.

DB: You've beaten Deane and Wiecek in the same event. What does that mean?

It means we belong at this level. Maybe some people still doubted whether the BMW could compete with the Nissans on a top-level circuit. I hope today answered that question.

DB: The championship gap to Wiecek is 45 points. Are you thinking about the title?

I wasn't until this weekend. Now? Yes. Three rounds, three wins, and I'm champion. That's the mathematics. Is it likely? No. Is it possible? Absolutely yes.

DB: What's your message to Wiecek and Deane?

We're coming for you. That's all I'll say.
